
“Robert Gaskins” and “Dennis Austin” (from California), invented the first version of PowerPoint in the year 1984. Initially, PowerPoint was known as “presenter”, and it was originally designed for Macintosh computer, later it was renamed as “PowerPoint” in the year 1987 by Robert Gaskins. The most noteworthy change done in Microsoft was “clipboard”, which was launched with PowerPoint 2000; clipboard can handle multiple entities at once.
PowerPoint contains number of individual sheets or “slides”. The “slides” contain graphics, text, movies, clips, and other objects which can be freely used in presentation. PowerPoint contains “slide master” and template, which assists the use of steady style in a presentation. If you making a PowerPoint presentation, first of all set your goal viewers. Create a clear idea about what you are going to communicate to with the spectators.
Do not put lots of information in your presentation, simplify your idea into few bullet forms, and while presenting try to explain those points in your own words.
You can also use tables, graphics, graph, audio, images, and video in your presentation. it will look good and grab the attention of the audience more professionally.
Avoid the use of too much text in presentation; instead you can use lots of attractive images to express your idea visually.
Start your presentation with clear introduction about your topic, and what issue or matter you going to cover in this topic. Make a conclusion slide to recap your topic.
After concluding your presentation, ask your audience if they have any questions. Open up to your audience for discussions and make your presentation an interactive session.
While ending your presentation, give your contact information to audience such as links of your websites, blogs, etc. If you will leave your phone detail with your target audience, then they will be able keep in touch.
Before presenting in front of audience, you will have to practice for it in front of your friends, family, mirror. While presenting, make eye contact with audience, be sure, keep smiling, be comfortable and make your others comfortable as well, and keep right posture and gesture.
