How to Protect from Swine Flu

Posted on 03:02 by Unknown
Swine influenza, also known as H1N1 is a viral infection that causes illness in people. She first from pigs in the 1930s, but was first detected in humans in April 2009. H1N1 is spreading among humans in the same way as normal flu spreads by touching, sneezing, coughing, etc. This article will show you how to protect against swine flu.

The swine flu symptoms are similar to those of common flu, which makes it difficult to detect at an early stage. these symptoms are cough, congestion, aches, joint pain, sore throat, fatigue, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and in rare cases even death. Children, the elderly and pregnant women are at greater risk of developing infection. People with medical conditions such as asthma, blood disease, kidney and liver, diabetes etc. are also more likely to be infected with H1N1.

There are vaccines available now in hospitals to protect you from the swine flu. There are also many everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of this virus.
Here are some steps you can take to protect against swine flu:

Disinfect

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water at regular intervals before and after eating, after using the toilet and return indoors.
You must spend at least 20 seconds to wash their hands nearly 80% of the infection is transmitted by hands.
If you do not have access to soap and water all the time, keep a disinfectant with you who has an alcohol content of 60%.

Avoid

Stay away from crowded places and reduce social contacts. Do not meet people who are already down with the flu or you think they are infected.
You can not, of course, avoid going to the office, but do not go out otherwise.
If you must leave, then ensure that you keep a safe distance from people infected and wear a surgical or dental treatment to reduce risk of infection.
However, do not rely only on the masks because they are not infallible and do not protect completely against swine flu.

Be vigilant

Because the symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of colds, you must be very careful.
Consult a physician immediately if symptoms do not disappear in a few days or worsen.
Remember the swine flu can be treated effectively if you seek medical attention at the right time.

Hygiene

The basic step you can take to reduce the spread of this virus is to follow the hygiene habits.
Always carry a handkerchief or tissue and use it to cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.
If you use cloth, throw them in the trash after one use, do not put it in your pocket or purse.

Cleanliness

Maintain cleanliness in your home and work to protect the swine flu.
Keep your home clean and sanitized, especially bathrooms and kitchens. Wipe smooth surfaces with disinfectants.
Follow the same practice at your workplace, wiping your computer, desk, telephone and so powerful disinfectant.

Do not panic

If you think you have contacted the virus, do not panic.
Take the tablets of paracetamol for fever and other medicines for cold and if symptoms persist, consult a doctor and follow his instructions carefully.

Additional precautions

You must be very careful with young children (especially infants and children under 5), elderly (aged over 60) and chronic patients. They can seek medical help immediately if infection due to their fragile immune system.
